today my prof said to my class “you don’t truly love someone until they’ve hurt you and you still think of them as the greatest person in the world. Love is the most violent act.” ok ok ok

“people are not meant to be here forever. they are only meant to stick around for as long as they’re supposed to. i guess that means it’s alright that i didn’t try harder to make you stay.”

I chipped my tooth last night and I think it’s because I was on coke

The sugar and chemicals in coke are really bad for your teeth…. Why would you put something in your body that you can use to clean pennies and toilet bowls?

I could honestly bet that if you ask anyone what their biggest fear is in a relationship, it would be the past repeating itself.
Someone once told you “you don’t make me happy anymore” so you’re constantly wondering if you’re making the person you’re with now happy. Someone once cheated on you and now you can’t stop thinking about how that random person you saw comment on their picture or in the back of a snapchat. Someone once abused you and now you flinch any time they come at you just a little too quickly. Someone once told you that you were nothing without them, so you cling to the person you’re with because you feel you’d be nothing if they ever left you. Someone once walked away and never gave you a reason and now it’s been two hours and you’re freaking out because they haven’t responded.
The truth is, our past will never repeat itself. Things may happen to us that are incredibly similar, but everything is a lesson. Our past is meant to teach us, guide us, and shape us into the person we are truly supposed to be. So maybe you’re afraid of many things, but don’t let those many things ruin something great that might be sitting right in front of you. Your horrible past is never going to be worth losing an incredible future.

"

Are you ever sorry?“ He asked.

“For loving you?” She smiled and shook her head. “No. There are so many things to be sorry for, but loving you isn’t one of them.”

For some reason, that answer made him even more restless.

“What are the things you’re sorry about, then?” He asked after a while.

“I’m sorry that I wasn’t quite right for you. That you weren’t quite right for me. That the timing wasn’t quite right for us. We were never lacking in love. It wasn’t ever a question of whether we loved each other enough or not, because if love could fill a whole room - ours would have needed more space. It would have burst out of the windows and banged open doors.” She stopped, and smiled such a sad smile it broke his heart all over again.

“You know I loved you so much.” He whispered.

She reached out to squeeze his hand and said, “I know, darling. I know. But even the greatest of loves cannot withstand the wars of this world. And no matter how much we loved each other, it wasn’t a war we were supposed to win.

Honestly imagine how cool it would be if everyone just stopped mowing their lawns.
After a few months we would have meadows and tons of bees and rabbits and toads and stuff. After a few more summers there would be trees, and eventually your neighborhood would become a forest. There would be so much shade. The air would be so fresh. You would see deer on your walk to school, we could save the Earth.
